    • 5188 PRIVATE SECURITY LAW

    On June 26th, 2004, the new Private Security Law No: 5188 came into effect. This new law introduced important and fundamental changes to legislation regulating implementation of private security services. Whereas the previous legislation only allowed companies to set up security departments to protect their own premises, this new law now in effect allows the concept of outsourcing of security services in order that these companies may contract out their security requirements. Consequently, a legal basis is now established to keep pace with the existing fast-growing private security service market.

    The new law also introduced important industry standards regulating the responsibilities, training and educational background of security personnel.

    RGS Güvenlik A.Ş. was founded to adhere to the regulations of the new law and has obtained both operating and training school licences from the Ministry of the Interior.
